Busy, Busy, Busy

We posed for the green screen to show how to microchip!

Last week, we were super busy and we'd love to tell you about what we did and also how you can help up stay busy! Saturday, July 13th, we attended the Dog and Cat Days of Summer at the Norman Public Library. We held a microchip clinic and also got to check out the other local animal booths that came out. We made lots of human and furry friends. We even got to give a health check to two very sweet beagles that have had a rough life and are well on their way to being ready for adoption.

The latter part of this last week, Dr. Amy Tyler, the brains behind St. Francis, attended the Best Friends Conference in Dallas, Texas. This is a gathering of shelters, rescues and resources to learn best practices for organizations in the community. Dr. Tyler attended the conference with Kim Fairbanks, who runs Hands Helping Paws, a local cat rescue in Norman. They had a great time and are both excited to bring what they learned to the animals here.

Getting ready to share some supplies

Even though Dr. Tyler was away, Jessica and Mandy were also hard at work. Saturday during the day, we attended Laundry Love. This local non-profit assists the people of Norman by providing free laundry services. We brought supplies to hand out to the families that came out. We handed out over 65 pounds of food, 45 cans of wet food, 6 pet beds, 10 bowls and 10 pounds of litter. This was a great partnership and we plan on partnering with them for future events!

Saturday evening, Jessica and Mandy went to Café 501 in Classen Curve for a microchip clinic at their Pups on the Patio event. We microchipped 14 pets and got to hang out with a few more as well! Every microchip we sold helps vaccinate and microchip a pet in need.

We got to microchip these cuties and got lots of cuddles!

Today Dr. Tyler and Mandy went to help a family of pups, but keep an eye out for their own blog post! They were so cute and their mom has taken such good care of them, they deserve their own post. I promise, these puppies will be worth the wait.

Even though we've been super busy, we are so grateful for the connections and partnerships we are making and look forward to continuing. Want to know how you can help? We are always in need of supplies like the ones given at Laundry Love or monetary donations that help provide microchips and vet care to owners. Or let us know if you want to volunteer to be a part of these fun events and get to love on sweet animals with us!

Thanks again for taking care of Millie and Mollie beagles. I think we have found a forever home for them - together!!
